The Grass Roots

​The Grass Roots are an American rock band that charted frequently between 1965 and 1975. The band was originally the creation of Lou Adler and songwriting duo P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri. In their career they achieved two gold albums and two gold singles, and been on Billboard Hot 100 a total of 21 times. They have sold over 20 million records worldwide.

The Grass Roots became known for their British beat-inspired sound, as well as influences from soul, blues and folk rock. In 2015, they joined the Turtles, The Association, The Buckinghams and the Cowsills for that year’s Happy Together tour.

From Chicago’s Holiday Ballroom to America’s living room on the Ed Sullivan show, across the USA and in the Whitehouse, The Buckinghams have stayed true to their Chicago roots. Audiences and critics have affirmed the demand for the music of the Buckinghams. They are an American pop band that formed in 1966 and went on to become one of the top-selling acts of 1967, charting their only five top 40 hits in the U.S. that year. The band dissolved in 1970, but re-formed in 1980 and they continue to tour throughout the United States.
